    Valuations

    For Insurance

Leevans offers an in house jewellery and watch written valuation service examined buy our expert jewellers for the replacement of your item/s should they be lost or stolen.

This is a legal document that is to be passed on to your insurer so they are aware of exactly what it is that they are insuring, limiting any possible problems during a claim. It ensures that you have an up to date value, keeping in line with rising costs of gemstones, precious metals and labour.

Our valuation documents include a detailed description of your items/s, a current replacement value, and digital images, presented in a wallet. You will receive 2 copies of your valuation, one for your own records and the second to be passed on to your insurer.

    For Probate

We also offer a service for probate valuations. Unlike an insurance valuation which indicates the full replacement value, this lower assessment is based on amounts likely to be achieved at auction or by selling your jewellery to the trade. It is determined by the worth of the materials and the condition of the items.

The purpose for this lower value is to offer a true selling value and not a replacement value in order to keep any tax liability to a minimum when selling the estate of the deceased.
